GoAir launches Aviation Security Training Institute

Mumbai, June 22 2017:

GoAir, one of India’s fastest growing airlines, today announced the establishment of its ‘Aviation Security Training Institute (ASTI)’ which has been duly approved by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). GoAir’s Aviation Security Training Institute will be conducting aviation security training for its security staff, cockpit and cabin crew or personnel of all stakeholders covering security areas at airports as mandated by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India (BCAS). This institute is also authorised and equipped to provide training to other airlines for the security requirements as per regulatory guidelines.

“The Aviation Security Training Institute is in line with our efforts to conduct aviation security classroom and e-learning training courses covering a wide range of issues, including safety and facilitation issues. This facility also boasts of state of the art equipment, approved by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India (BCAS), to train all security and non-security staff providing guidance on technical procedure in all areas of aviation security,” said Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Managing Director & CEO, GoAir

The facility comprises of four state of the art training rooms fitted with LCD projectors for audio-visual presentations; one computer-based training (CBT) room with 16 PCs; IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) with various Switches DEMO room. The facility is also equipped with a DFMD (Door frame Metal Detector) and HHMD (Hand held Metal Detector). The courses offered at this institution areAir Crew Initial Course (6 days), Air Crew Refresher Course (2 days), AVSEC Induction Course for Security staff (5 days), Basic Avsec Course for Security Staff (12 days), AVSEC Refresher Course for Security Staff (03 days), Avsec Awareness course (01 day) for all airport staff.
